How do you work out horizon when studying paintings?

I can see perspective light sources parallels but when it comes to horizon apparently i am not quite right ?

Any help?

you refer to studying, but do you mean as in drawing, th horizon is focal point in a perspective drawing or image, all angles of building guidelines align to the horizon,

as well size and distance, light would be a variable from alternate point of view, allowing light and shade,
