How should I go about independently studying physics and quantum mechanics?

I don’t have any money for college, but could probably afford a text book and study various online science journals. I’m just extremely curious and interested in those ideas and would really like to expand my horizons, despite my lack of time and money for college. BTW I did very well in physics and math in high school.

Just go to the library and take out books on the subjects.

Books by Michio Kaku are great.

Brian Greene’s "the elegant universe" is really good.

Also Kip Thorne has great stuff on black holes that will blow your mind.

Easiest other stringed instrument to learn for a violin player?

I played violin in the school orchestra and ensembles throughout high school, but I’m now looking to expand my horizons. I’ve tried guitar, and all other traditional stringed orchestra instruments…So maybe mandolin? Any ideas from other violinists?

I love the violin and know just how you feel. The viola is almost the same with a B below the G and no E, and you’re right about the mandolin because it have the same exact notes of the stings on a violin, but it might not get you far into playing with other people if you’re not into bluegrass or folk music. The bass guitar is also a great choice for easy instruments because it is not only G-D-A-E (From highest to lowest) instead of E-A-D-G from highest to lowest like it is on a violin, it is pretty simple for an instrument. Remember, though: no instrument is really easy if you don’t put in effort. I hope you find a good instrument, because i think maybe I should too! P.S. A dobro is also a good choice for a cool, different instrument.

Everest Institute-what are the pros and cons for medical assistant training?

I want to broaden my horizon of actually getting a job in the future as i just left high school, but i need to find the right school. Everest keeps popping up so i want to know is it a good school or is it just make believe?any other good accredited suggestions?

There aren’t too many pros. The real con is the amount of money you’ll end up paying for a program that takes less than a year to complete. My friend is still paying off all those unsubsidized loans she had to take out just to go to Everest.

What are some good math schools?

Well, I’m a sophomore in high school right now and decided I’d just start to open up my horizon and take a look at some schools. I’m a good student, 3.9 GPA and I’m in a higher level math course right now. I’ve looked around and found some very high-level schools. Harvard, MIT, Stanford, CalTech, and Berkeley are the ones I’m shooting for. I was wondering if there are any other (possibly cheaper!) math colleges out there. I’ll take any ideas.

With your grades you should be able to qualify for scholarships. You should be able to get into all those schools.

I had to write a poem for school..please tell me if you think its ridiculous because it is going to be a grade?

the poem is not meant to be serious, but i’m afraid that my english teacher wont feel it is sophisticated enough or something because i’m in *honors* high school english, but what do you think? … please just tell me if you think its too silly, or if it just plain sucks.

another terrible thing about this assignment is that i am going to have to read my poem aloud to the CLASS! talk about humiliating. So yeah, if you could just give your input or if you have a suggestion for me to make to improve it, that would be good too.

i think it is good! but if your teacher doesn’t get the point of it satay after class and try to explain it to her! then if she still don’t get it then i don’t know what you should do to get her to understand the point of the poem! ha ha
